Turbulent \Tur"bu*lent\, a. [L. turbulentus, fr. turba disorder,
   tumult: cf. F. turbulent. See {Turbid}.]
   1. Disturbed; agitated; tumultuous; roused to violent
      commotion; as, the turbulent ocean.
