   1. Of or pertaining to a sceptic or skepticism; characterized
      by skepticism; hesitating to admit the certainly of
      doctrines or principles; doubting of everything.

   2. (Theol.) Doubting or denying the truth of revelation, or
      the sacred Scriptures.
