Serenity \Se*ren"i*ty\, n. [L. serenuas: cf. F.
   s['e]r['e]nit['e].]
   1. The quality or state of being serene; clearness and
      calmness; quietness; stillness; peace.

            A general peace and serenity newly succeeded a
