Procumbent \Pro*cum"bent\, a. [L. procumbens, -entis, p. pr. of
   procumbere to fall, bend, or lean forward; pro forward +
   cumbere (in comp.), akin to cubare to lie down: cf. F.

   1. Lying down, or on the face; prone. `` Procumbent each
