   {Pleasing}.] [OE. plesen, OF. plaisir, fr. L. placere, akin
   to placare to reconcile. Cf. {Complacent}, {Placable},
   {Placid}, {Plea}, {Plead}, {Pleasure}.]
   1. To give pleasure to; to excite agreeable sensations or
      emotions in; to make glad; to gratify; to content; to
      satisfy.
