Whin \Whin\, n. [W. chwyn weeds, a single weed.]
1. (Bot.)
(a) Gorse; furze. See {Furze}.
Through the whins, and by the cairn. --Burns.

2. Same as {Whinstone}. [Prov. Eng.]

({Genista Anglica}) common in Western Europe.
