Observant \Ob*serv"ant\, a. [L. observans, -anits, p. pr. of
   observare: cf. F. observant. See {Observe}.]
   1. Taking notice; viewing or noticing attentively; watchful;
      attentive; as, an observant spectator; observant habits.
