Nick \Nick\, n. [AS. nicor a marine monster; akin to D. nikker a
   water spite, Icel. nykr, ONG. nihhus a crocodile, G. nix a
   water sprite; cf. Gr. ? to wash, Skr. nij. Cf. {Nix}.]
