Linstock \Lin"stock\ (l[i^]n"st[o^]k), n. [Corrupt. fr.
   luntstock, D. lontstok; lont lunt + stok stock, stick. See

   A pointed forked staff, shod with iron at the foot, to hold a
   lighted match for firing cannon. [Written also {lintstock}.]
