Kauri \Ka"u*ri\, n. [Native name.] (Bot.)
A lofty coniferous tree of New Zealand {Agathis, or Dammara,
australis}), furnishing valuable timber and yielding one kind
of dammar resin. [Written also {kaudi}, {cowdie}, and
{cowrie}.]
