Indigenous \In*dig"e*nous\, a. [L. indigenus, indigena, fr. OL.
indu (fr. in in) + the root of L. gignere to beget, bear. See

1. Native; produced, growing, or living, naturally in a
country or climate; not exotic; not imported.
