Gad \Gad\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Gadded}; p. pr. & vb. n.
   {Gadding}.] [Prob. fr. gad, n., and orig. meaning to drive
   about.]
   To walk about; to rove or go about, without purpose; hence,
   to run wild; to be uncontrolled. ``The gadding vine.''
