Evasion \E*va"sion\, n. [L. evasio: cf. F. ['e]vasion. See
   {Evade}.]
   The act of eluding or avoiding, particularly the pressure of
   an argument, accusation, charge, or interrogation; artful
   means of eluding.

         Thou . . . by evasions thy crime uncoverest more.

        equivocation.
