   1. To foul; to make filthy; to soil; as, to dirty the clothes
      or hands.

   2. To tarnish; to sully; to scandalize; -- said of
      reputation, character, etc.

   1. Defiled with dirt; foul; nasty; filthy; not clean or pure;
