   & vb. n. {Curbing}.] [F. courber to bend, curve, L. curvare,
   fr. curvus bent, curved; cf. Gr. ?????? curved. Cf. {Curve}.]
   1. To bend or curve [Obs.]

      to one's will; to subject; to subdue; to restrain; to
      confine; to keep in check.
