Negatively \Neg"a*tive*ly\, adv.
   1. In a negative manner; with or by denial. ``He answered
      negatively.'' --Boyle.

   2. In the form of speech implying the absence of something;
      -- opposed to {positively}.

            I shall show what this image of God in man is,
            negatively, by showing wherein it does not consist,
            and positively, by showing wherein it does consist.

      charge of the kind of electricity called negative.
