   1. To speak of, or address, with impious irreverence; to
      revile impiously (anything sacred); as, to blaspheme the
      Holy Spirit.

            So Dagon shall be magnified, and God, Besides whom
            is no god, compared with idols, Disglorified,
            blasphemed, and had in scorn.         --Milton.
