Vermeil \Ver"meil\, n. [F., vermilion, fr. LL. vermiculus, fr.
   L. vermiculus a little worm, the coccus Indicus, from vermis
   a worm. See {Worm}, and cf. {Vermicule}.]
   1. Vermilion; also, the color of vermilion, a bright,
      beautiful red. [Poetic & R.]
