Sankha \Sank"ha\, n. [Skr. [,c]ankha a shell.] A chank shell ({Turbinella pyrum}); also, a shell bracelet or necklace made in India from the chank shell. Chank \Chank"\, n. [Skr. [,c]a[.n]kha. See {Conch}.] (Zo["o]l.) The East Indian name for the large spiral shell of several species of sea conch much used in making bangles, esp. {Turbinella pyrum}. Called also {chank chell}.
