Splanchnopleure \Splanch"no*pleure\, n. [Gr. ???? an entrail +
   ???? side.] (Anat.)
   The inner, or visceral, one of the two lamell[ae] into which
   the vertebrate blastoderm divides on either side of the
   notochord, and from which the walls of the enteric canal and
