Sorosis \So*ro"sis\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. ? a heap.] (Bot.)
   A fleshy fruit formed by the consolidation of many flowers
   with their receptacles, ovaries, etc., as the breadfruit,
   mulberry, and pineapple.
