Solifugae \So*lif"u*g[ae]\, n. pl. [NL., from L. solifuga (better solipuga), a kind of venomous ant, or spider.] (Zo["o]l.) A division of arachnids having large, powerful fangs and a segmented abdomen; -- called also {Solpugidea}, and {Solpugides}.
