   To catch, as an eel, by sniggling; hence, to hook; to
   insnare. --Beau. & Fl.

   n. {Sniggling}.] [See {Snig} a kind of eel.]
   To fish for eels by thrusting the baited hook into their
   holes or hiding places. --Walton.
