Shrouded \Shroud"ed\, a.
   Provided with a shroud or shrouds.

   {Shrouded gear} (Mach.), a cogwheel or pinion having flanges
      which form closed ends to the spaces between the teeth and
      thus strengthen the teeth by tying them together.

   1. To cover with a shroud; especially, to inclose in a
      winding sheet; to dress for the grave.

            The ancient Egyptian mummies were shrouded in a
            number of folds of linen besmeared with gums.
