   literally, quiet, rest, fr. sh[=a]l[=a]h to rest.] (Script.)
   A word used by Jacob on his deathbed, and interpreted
   variously, as ``the Messiah,'' or as the city ``Shiloh,'' or
   as ``Rest.''
