Scrimp \Scrimp\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Scrimped} (?; 215); p. pr.

   To make too small or short; to limit or straiten; to put on
   short allowance; to scant; to contract; to shorten; as, to
   scrimp the pattern of a coat.
