{Ctenophora}, and {Hydrozoa} or Acalephs. {Spongiozoa} or
{Porifera}, including the sponges.

Ctenophora \Cte*noph"o*ra\ (t?-n?f"?-r?), n. pl. [NL., from Gr.
   ???, ???, comb + ???? to carry.] (Zo["o]l.)
   A class of C[oe]lenterata, commonly ellipsoidal in shape,
   swimming by means of eight longitudinal rows of paddles. The
   separate paddles somewhat resemble combs.
