Austral \Aus"tral\, a. [L. australis, fr. auster: cf. F.
   austral.]
   Southern; lying or being in the south; as, austral land;
   austral ocean.

   {Austral signs} (Astron.), the last six signs of the zodiac,
      or those south of the equator.
