Argol \Ar"gol\, n. [Cf. {Argal}, {Orgal}. Of unknown origin.]
   Crude tartar; an acidulous salt from which cream of tartar is
   prepared. It exists in the juice of grapes, and is deposited
   from wines on the sides of the casks. --Ure.
